I took this picture while on holiday with my family at Easter time in 2023. This holiday was very surreal due to the environment, allowing me to fully indulge myself into the pleasure of nature surrounding us. Every morning or night I would have a walk up to the beach to go up and down the shore; even though it was incredibly windy and rainy most days, it didn’t stop any of us from going out and doing everything we wanted. If the weather was too bad, my family and I would gather round in the living room making up games and chatting together. These are my favourite parts on these trips. The day I took this picture, all I could hear was kids laughing and playing. They were riding bikes, playing with footballs and generally having great fun together, as soon and as much as they could. This to me was the hope, the moment and the feeling it carried. The seagull in the photograph to me represents this, the freedom and leisure, flying of into the sky as the sun rips through the dense fog up on the mountains.
