I appreciate colour blocking and adored the Park Hyatt Marrakech’s architecture this winter. The exteriors are all pink-hued walls, off-set by my verdant green and fuchsia roses and tall palm trees smiling at the skies. And this blue sky makes this scene look even more remarkable. At night, as the sunsets over the Atlas mountains, the sound of birdsong can still be heard but now with an added cricket for this concerto. The final touches are impeccable with bright blue and shimmering silver mirrors and picture frames popping with colours that clash yet make the perfect style statement. Swimming pools take space in ever corner of this hotel but as it’s winter it’s quiet apart from those little sparrows and blackbirds. And the sun – the most viewed object in the world – makes all these scenic elements to the hotel shine even brighter. It would be nice to retire here.
I was even more amazed that this property is also accessible. Paul and I stayed in a sprawling pink room, the accessible one, for a little winter sun this month. We loved the roll-in shower with chair but it just looked so good, too. The facing wall is all window with a tree growing around the shower! But the Park Hyatt Marrakesh brings so much more to the table in terms of accessible-yet-stylish features. It has level access through out, a high-standing bed for wheelchair access, staff on standby for Paul’s every need and wide doors. While the sauna and steam room had steps and made access too challenging, Paul was able to access the jacuzzi. As the sunsets here on our last night, a sizzling seafood BBQ waiting to be devoured, we took it all in. If we don’t retire here, we will at least return.
