This is a photograph of my foster brother, who has only recently joined my family, just a handful of months ago. Despite this, he is now a permanent addition to our house. I know it is real because I can remember how he asked me to take pictures of him while he posed like a superhero and ran around on the sand of the Welsh beach. I also know this photograph is real because it’s a reminder of me of the change his introduction has caused within my family, an undoubtedly good change, the house is noisier and more chaotic, but it is balanced by the warmth and joy he provides. I know this photograph is real because he is my brother and I loo forward to it being that way for many years.
