In my work, I help people connect with something greater—their higher selves—so they can release fears, heal, and transform their lives. But even with all my understanding of transitions, grief still held its weight after my Mum passed.
She had been ready. In her final days, I heard her tell the nurses she was ready to go, that she wanted God to take her. One night, as I held her hand, she reassured me, “Don’t worry about me, I’m ready.” When the time came, I sat with her, connected with my higher self and hers, and helped ease her transition. Even knowing I had helped didn’t take away the ache of missing her.
Months later, after deep healing work, I sat in the garden of my new home—just as we had done in her last weeks. As I connected with her, memories surfaced, including a childhood wound I had revisited many times. This time, something shifted.
Suddenly, my chest tightened. I was gasping for breath, hyperventilating. And I knew—my Mum was showing me, in a way I could feel, viscerally, what it was like for her at the end, with the tumour in her throat. Just as she had faith in God to help her in her final hours, even though she’d never seen him, I knew this was real. It was overwhelming, but I understood. I needed to move.
As I left the house, my eyes landed on a painting I had recently bought—The Doorway To Beyond. Steps leading to another world. I had been drawn to it without knowing why. In that moment, I knew. She was thanking me for helping her transition and showing me something deeper: my gift to help others through life’s transitions, whether grief, loss, or change.
That moment led me to create UNIFY, my process of connecting with past versions of ourselves to release pain, reclaim wisdom, and transform our future. Because loss isn’t just about those we love—it’s about the versions of ourselves we’ve had to leave behind. And healing is about finding our way home to who we truly are.
