My stay at the W São Paulo was unforgettable, not only because of the hotel’s vibrant energy but also because of how thoughtfully it handles accessibility. As a wheelchair user, I felt genuinely considered at every turn.
The entrances are wide and flat, the elevators spacious, and the common areas are laid out in a way that makes moving around feel effortless rather than like a negotiation.
Even small details. Like table heights, door widths, and the placement of call buttons, all show that accessibility isn’t an afterthought here but part of the hotel’s DNA.
What impressed me most was how naturally the staff offered support and the personal touch. When I told staff member Igor that I was missing my cat, a little cuddly toy arrived at our room a few hours later with a handwritten note to say that the teddy was named Nomad and Nomad is here to ensure I don’t miss my cats too much. I felt like a celebrity with this personal touch – Igor really went the extra mile to ensure my comfort.
But the ultimate highlight of our stay was yet to come.
On our second evening here, on the L40 rooftop restaurant, magic happened. And today, the L40 restaurant holds a very special place in my heart.
For it was here where Paul popped the big question to me. The atmosphere was already incredible, but that moment made it magical in a way I’ll never forget.
What truly elevated the experience, though (apart from the bubbles, gold, diamonds and Paul) was the staff.
In the middle of our Moët filled celebration, Igor returned to help me put on my engagement necklace with such care and warmth. It was a small gesture, but one that meant the world in such an emotional moment.
The W São Paulo delivered not just great service, but genuine hospitality. It’s a place where accessibility, luxury, and humanity come together beautifully. It’ll stay with me for a lifetime.
