A Song of Dawn

By Alan Hartley

In shadows deep,

where sorrows weep,

A soul adrift, its secrets keep,

The night’s embrace, a heavy shroud,

Yet hope persists, a fragile cloud.

The moon, a witness, whispers low,

“Life’s tapestry, a vibrant flow,

Each thread, a chance, a fleeting dance,

To seize the day, to take a chance.”

For suicide, a futile quest,

A leap into the dark’s unrest,

But morning breaks, a golden hue,

And life renews, as dreams pursue.

The stars above, their ancient song,

Refrains of hope, they pull us strong,

The heart, a compass, points the way,

To brighter skies, where sunbeams play.

So let us rise, defy despair,

Embrace the light, breathe in the air,

For life, my friend, is not in vain,

A symphony of joy and pain.

The river flows, its currents swift,

And every heartbeat is a gift,

To love, to laugh, to find our place,

In this grand cosmic waltz of grace.

And when the shadows threaten near,

Remember this: you’re still held dear,

By life itself, its ceaseless tide,

A miracle where hope abides.

So let us sing, with voices free,

A hymn of life, of unity,

For suicide, a futile plea,

When dawn awaits, eternally.
